Impactful:
This time of year, our bodies and minds naturally crave more sunlight and warmer weather. Especially after the past few weeks. BRR!!! While March brings the promise of longer days and milder temperatures, as any seasoned Minnesotan knows, winter’s chill and darkness can linger, making the season feel endless.
With that in mind, I want to encourage you to “check in” with those around you. Take a moment to connect with your children, friends, and family members about how they’re doing. Speak with them about their self-esteem, self-image, and overall well-being.
If you or someone you know could use additional support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our counseling department. They can help connect you with resources tailored to your family's needs. While I don’t necessarily subscribe to the idea that “we’re all in the same boat,” I do believe that “we’re all in the same ocean,” and it’s up to us to support one another.

Practical:
The past month has been buzzing at SHS! During the week of January 27–31, our annual Snow Daze celebration brought fantastic entertainment for everyone. Students showcased their school spirit by participating in dress-up days, competing in the annual Powder Tuff volleyball tournament, and engaging in our newly introduced grade-level competition, “Battle of the Hives.” The week was an absolute blast!
A huge thank you to our Student Council Advisor, Mrs. Chrest, and our Student Council members for their incredible efforts in planning and organizing such a fun filled week. Following all the excitement, students are already talking about the next round of the “Battle of the Hives”!
