Impactful:
I wasn’t feeling very impactful today, but as I worked up the energy to plan the content of this next blog post, I was reminded why I take the time to write them in the first place. I came across an email I received from a thankful parent about a year ago. She shared how much she appreciated these blog posts and the connection they foster between school and home.
This post isn’t about that email. Nor is it about seeking more emails that express gratitude for the little bits of information that are shared here. This post is about something that this parent reminded me of in her note of appreciation. She wrote, “Thank you for being in our kids’ corner.”
That phrase stuck with me, and today, I want to reaffirm it using this small platform. To our students: I’m in your corner. I want you to succeed. I’m here to support you on your journey, no matter how unorganized or organized it may feel. Whether you’re struggling or thriving, whether you fail or prevail, I won’t give up on you because I believe in you.
To parents and guardians: I’m in your corner too. I know raising a teenager can be an incredible, rewarding, and challenging journey. After all, I have two of my own teenagers at home and a pre-teen close behind. Please know that we’re partners in this. Your child’s success, growth, and well-being matter deeply to me. My goal with these posts, and everything I do, is to remind your kids that they’re supported, acknowledged, and capable of great things.
Thank you for trusting me to be part of your child’s life and for being part of this journey with me.
Practical:
A perfect spin off of my note above today is to remind and encourage everyone that we are here to help! As we prepare for the final push of our first semester, please reach out if you need support for your student(s). Our teachers, counselors, and administrators are willing to brainstorm with you and create a plan to help your child succeed.
You can help support our efforts here at school, and your student’s academic efforts, by staying connected and monitoring your student’s progress via Infinite Campus Parent Portal. If concerns arise, please feel free to contact individual teachers, counselors, or administrators.
