Principal's Blog: 8/30/24

Dear Spectrum High School Families,

On behalf of the Spectrum High School faculty, I am honored to extend a warm welcome to all to the 2024-25 school year! We’ve had a great first week of school, and many thanks are deserved on three fronts. First, a huge thank you to our staff for doing an amazing job preparing for the year and getting us rolling this week. Secondly, thank you to parents and guardians for entrusting your student(s) to us. We are grateful for our strong partnership and your support of our organization. Lastly, thank you to our students. This just may have been the smoothest first week ever at SHS! The conduct and attitude of our student body this week was nothing short of remarkable. I’m confident it is going to be a fantastic year and am excited to see how it all unfolds.

As I have intended for the past few years, I hope to provide something "impactful" and "practical" every few weeks this school year through these blog posts. My goal with the "impactful" content is to provide perspective, while I hope you find the "practical" information related to happenings here at SHS helpful.

Impactful:

The 2024-25 Spectrum Schools’ theme is “Progress.” With this theme, we hope to inspire our community—families, students, and staff—to prioritize the idea that our focus should continually return to the progress we are making through our experiences. Each class period, day, and semester, we make gains: some small, some big, but progress is always present. All of us deserve to celebrate the journey and enjoy the growth and learning that occurs constantly. Embrace this more regularly and savor the joy of your accomplishments!

Practical:

As a reminder, please be sure to follow the directions below pertaining to student drop-off and pick up procedures at our high school building:

HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING

• Enter Industrial Circle from the north entrance off of Twin Lakes Rd. Turn right into the main entrance (one way).

• Go around the building and drop off in the left lane at the front of the building. Note: If traffic is backed up on the south side of the building, students may exit there, use the crosswalk, and enter at the front of the building.

• The right lane is a pull through lane after students exit in the left lane.

• There are two exit lanes. Left lane must turn left and the right lane must turn right.

***Please reference the map below for further information regarding traffic flow in the mornings and afternoons. Thank you for your cooperation!
