Principal's Blog: 3/1/24

Impactful:

As our second semester progresses, it’s important to take an inventory of how things are going with yourself and those closest to you. So, here it is, another annual encouragement from me to “check in”. Checking in not only shows you care, but also allows us to personally reflect on our own mental health status, which if we’re being honest, none of us probably do enough.

If you are looking for help on how to talk to your student(s) about the topic of mental health, here are some resources:

Resource #1

Resource #2

If you find that you are in need of further support, please do not hesitate to reach out to our counseling department, who can help with locating additional resources for your individual family needs. Please feel free to access some helpful information here on our website as well.

Practical:

As you are likely aware, our fall parent/teacher conferences will be held on Thursday, March 7th and Tuesday, March 12th from 3:00 pm - 6:30 pm. Both evenings, we will have a virtual conference option for families as well as an in-person option. Virtual conferences will be held from 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm each night. Please note that virtual conference slots will be limited, so when the window opens for signing up, please be sure to be responsive. In-person conferences will run from 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm each evening. On Tuesday, March 12th, we will host in-person conferences as usual; meaning, they will be arena style in the gymnasium at the high school building. Due to the boys’ basketball section game being hosted at Spectrum High School on Thursday, March 7th, in-person conferences will be hosted in teacher’s classrooms and/or office areas.

Please look for an email communication that includes directions on how to access the virtual conference sign up application soon.

If you reach out to any of our teachers, we will work to make the connection as our goal is to collaborate and partner with our families in an effort to provide the best educational experience possible for your student(s).
