Impactful:

We will be entering our fourth week of the school year on Monday and soon the first month will be behind us. Before we get too deep into the year, I thought I would share a little about what I’ve been thinking about over the summer. Please check THIS out.

If you decided not to go to the link above, here is a quick summary. George Curous invites us to explore and think about 3 challenges for the future of education. They include the following:

1. Focusing on deep learning that is extremely hard to quantify in a world that is placing more value on everything being quantified.

2. Shifting mindsets of what learning is about to what learning can be in the future. How do we take advantage of the opportunities in front of us and leverage them instead of pushing them away?

3. How do we focus more on keeping our humanity in education and learning while there is so much focus on technology and automation?

Throughout this school year, I hope to meet these challenges head on with the help and support of our amazing staff here at Spectrum.

Practical:

As week #3 comes to an end, I want to extend the offer to partner with you. We are here to help! If your student(s) is/are struggling, please do not hesitate to reach out for support. Our teachers, counselors, and administrators are willing to brainstorm with you and create a plan to help your child succeed.

You can help support our efforts here at school, and your student’s academic efforts, by staying connected and monitoring his/her progress via Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Again, if concerns arise, please feel free to contact individual teachers, counselors, or administrators.
