SPECTRUM HIGH SCHOOL 

  • Hey Sting! With winter coming up, there's a need for winter clothes in the community. This year, from November 1 - 22, the National Honor Society will be having a winter clothing donation drive. Bring in any mittens, hats, coats, or any other warm clothing you may not want anymore that could go to someone in need this winter. There will collection boxes in the cafeteria and the CCC. All proceeds will go to CAER here in Elk River. Thanks, Go Sting!

  • Spectrum Theatre presents "The Poisoned Pen" THIS weekend.  Come see the show on Friday or Saturday evening at 7 pm or Sunday afternoon at 2 pm.  Our understudies will be performing their own show on Saturday afternoon at 2 pm.  Tickets are available at the door. $10 for adults & $5 for students.

  • Spectrum SENIORS! Please note the following information regarding the taking of the Senior class picture:

    - What: Senior class picture
    - When: Tuesday, November 7th during Advisory (12:24 pm) - this is a mandatory Sting Time Advisory session
    - Where: MS athletic field (weather permitting) Plan B will be to use the HS gymnasium
    - Who: ALL Seniors from the class of 2024
    Other details:
    - Seniors should wear your Senior shirt!
    - Senior Advisors will take attendance at the start of Advisory on Tuesday, November 7th. From there, you'll head straight out to the MS field. Once finished, you'll head back into the HS and finish out Advisory as planned.

  • LOST & FOUND: Attention, high school students! If you participate in athletics or activities after school in the middle school buildings, please check the 7-8 Lost & Found area for any lost items. There are currently over 30 sweatshirts and more than 15 water bottles waiting to be reclaimed. All unclaimed items will be donated after the upcoming conferences on November 6th. Don't miss the chance to retrieve your belongings!

  • The upcoming College Lunchroom Visit is Southwest Minnesota State University on Thursday, November 2. If you are interested, please stop by the CCC during the 20 minutes of your lunch.

  • Congratulations to Sophomore Hope Beck who has qualified for the State Cross Country Meet with her 5th place finish at the Section 5AA Meet yesterday in Princeton.  The State Meet will be run next Saturday at the University of Minnesota Golf Course in St. Paul.  Good job to the girls team who took 6th out of 9 teams and the boys team who placed 4th out of 11 teams.  And best wishes to Hope at the State Meet on Saturday.

  • Spectrum will be conducting the mandatory winter sports meetings for high school and middle school in two segments this year.  

    The second segment will meet 7:00 pm on Monday, November 6 at the high school. Students in grades 6-12 who are interested in basketball or grades 7-12 who are interested in alpine skiing or cheerleading should attend with at least one parent per family. 

    The meetings include requirements for participation, try-out information, and the opportunity to meet with the coaches.  The registration is now open at:

    Those who register early must still attend the mandatory winter sports meeting.

  • It’s official, Spectrum will be offering CHEERLEADING this winter.  Information will be included in the Winter Sports Meeting at 7:00 pm on Monday, November 6.  We will also be sending out announcements to all those who expressed interest in Cheer.  The season will begin the first week of December.  Cheerleading is open to all girls in grades 7-12.  Be sure to invite your friends and plan to attend the Winter Sports Meeting on November 6.

  • We have officially established a NORDIC SKI COOP with Parnassus Prep in Maple Grove.  Nordic Ski is open to students in grades 7-12 and most practices will be held at Elm Creek Park.  Registration is currently open, and information will be sent out to everyone who expressed interest.  Look for the colorful fliers located throughout the school, or you get more information in the office.

SPECTRUM MIDDLE SCHOOL 

  • Middle School Powder Puff: 7th and 8th grade girls interested in playing Powder Puff football – where girls play football coached by the Middle School football team – sign up in the office. The game will be on November 10, starting at 5:30 PM, right before the high school powder puff game! At least 8 girls in each grade are needed in order to play. orful fliers located throughout the school, or you get more information in the office.
