SPECTRUM HIGH SCHOOL 

  • Reminder: There will be no school on October 19-20 due to MEA Break. 

  • The upcoming StingTime College Presentation is The College of St. Scholastica on Wednesday, October 18. Please look for the CSS with Mr. Opsahl when making your Responsive Scheduling Offering selections to attend this presentation.

  • Hey Sting! Our Spectrum Student Council is holding our annual powder puff on November 10th at 6 pm at the athletic fields. The girls will play football while being coached by our very own spectrum football team. Sign up for your grade team on one of the QR codes placed around the school or on our Student Council Instagram page! Deadline to sign up for a team is October 25. Find our student council President Etta Glinsek, our student council  Advisor Mrs. Johnson, or one of the grade leaders on the poster with any questions. Go sting!

  • Spectrum will be conducting the mandatory winter sports meetings for high school and middle school in two segments this year.  Students in grades 7-12 who are interested in the dance team or students in grades 6-12 who are interested in wrestling will meet at 6:30 pm on Monday, October 23 at the high school.  At least one parent per family should also attend.

    Students in grades 6-12 who are interested in basketball or grades 7-12 who are interested in alpine skiing will meet at  7:00 pm on Monday, November 6 at the high school.  At least one parent per family should also attend.  

    The meetings include requirements for participation, try-out information, and the opportunity to meet with the coaches.  The registration is now open at:

    Those who register early must still attend the mandatory winter sports meeting.

  • Wreck-Less Driving Academy will be holding in person classes at Spectrum HS from October 30th to November 10th from 2:45-5:45 pm in Room 110.  If you are at least 14-1/2 years old and would like to join this class, please contact Wreck-Less Driving Academy to sign up today (class size is limited to 30 students and need 20 students told hold it).  There are fliers outside the front office or see Mrs. Bondy with questions.  Thanks!

SPECTRUM MIDDLE SCHOOL 

  • Reminder: There will be no school on October 19-20 due to MEA Break. 

  • Students of the Month - Each month we have two Students of the Month for each grade. These students are nominated by teachers for excelling in academic performance, character, behavior, effort, social relationships, and attendance; National Junior Honor Society students are not eligible to be a Student of the Month.  Please congratulate the following students for being recognized as the October Students of the Month:  

    • 6th - Judah Peterson and Rosella Frietag

    • 7th - Masen Neal and Abigail Johnson 

    • 8th - Tristan Nelson and Lydia Frette
       

  • ATTENTION ALL 6TH GRADERS:  Spectrum will be hosting a 6th grade cross country meet at 8:30 am on Saturday, Oct. 14 at our home course located at Bassett Creek Park in Crystal. This is your opportunity to experience the THRILL of cross country running. The course is one mile long and winds through fields, woods, and around a small lake. Come enjoy the fun of running a cross country race and stay to cheer for the high school team at the conference championship meet. You can even ride the bus with the team to and from the meet, and you get to race in a Spectrum jersey! Check you email or the posters around the school for more information.
