SPECTRUM HIGH SCHOOL 

  • Students, don't forget, our school-wide Empathy Awareness project continues Thursday, March 18th during Advisory.   PERKS will not apply this Thursday during Sting Time and all students are expected to attend this important Advisory session.  Thank you!

  • This message is for current 20-21 Link Crew leaders who are juniors and seniors. Link crew leaders, we are having a meeting on Wednesday, March 17th during Advisory. Head to Mr. Ott's classroom for Advisory on March 17th.

  • Students who would like to take C@SH classes will need to apply at our partner colleges, if they have not already. 9th graders will meet in the music room with the school counselors to apply to our partner colleges during Sting Time on March 16. 10th and 11th graders who are new to C@SH classes will apply on March 19 during Sting Time in the music room. All synchronous students will complete the application virtually on Google Meet Monday, March 22nd at 11 AM. Check your email for link. 

  • Wreck-Less Driving Academy will be doing a driver education class online again.  It's planned for April 19-30 from 4-7 pm.  If you are at least 14-1/2 yrs. old and would like to join this class, please contact Wreck-Less Driving Academy to sign up today (class is limited to 30 students).  Sign up @ wreck-lessdriving.com.  See Mrs. Bondy with questions.

  • Today is the last day for registration for the 2021-2022 school year. Be sure to fill out both the Registration Planning Worksheet and the Registration page in Infinite Campus. If there are classes with applications, the applications are found on the School Counseling website and are due on March 16th. Reach out to your counselor with any questions.

  • Reminder: The NOISE News crew is looking for 8th grade-11th grade students who are interested in joining Broadcast Journalism next year. Applications can be found on the high school counseling page OR by scanning the QR code on Mrs. Chrest's door.  Contact Mrs. Chrest with any questions!

  • Reminder: Yearbook is now accepting applications for next year's team. Turn in your applications today! Talk to Ms. Kemnitz in room 211, or email her at JKemnitz@Spectrumhighschool.org if you have any questions. The Accolade Staff would love to see you next year! 

SPECTRUM MIDDLE SCHOOL 

  • March Celebration Event: Next week is March’s Student Council Celebration Event. Please plan to join in dressing up -

    • Tuesday - Wear your clothes Backwards Day

    • Wednesday - St. Patrick's Day ~ wear green

    • Thursday - Summer/Tourist Day ~ dress like it is July or that you are on a trip

    • Friday - Hat/Bandana Day ~ wear your favorite hat or bandana, along with your school colors

  •  Student Handbook: This is also a reminder that as we have returned to in-person learning, it is expected that all students follow the middle-school Handbook. Especially take note of the Dress Code policy and the expectation to dress for success. Also, backpacks should be in students’ lockers throughout the day. Thank you for helping us have a great community for learning!

  • MCA Preparation: Next week is our first Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment this year. We will start with reading, and it will be with your Advisory, next Tuesday and Wednesday. Plan to get a good night’s rest, starting this weekend, and to have a fully-charged Chromebook both days. See your Literature teacher or Ms. Snodgrass if you have any questions.

  • Lockers: Speaking of lockers, it is mid semester this Friday. Take some time this week during Sting Time to clean out your locker to get ready for the rest of the school year.

  • History Club: If you like history, you do not want to miss this opportunity! History Club begins tomorrow. See the promotions around the buildings or contact Mr. Brunt for more information. Registration closes tonight, so get your fee submitted so you can participate each Wednesday.

  • Students of the Month - Each month we have two Students of the Month for each grade. These students are nominated by teachers for excelling in academic performance, character, behavior, effort, social relationships, and attendance; National Junior Honor Society students are not eligible for SOTM.  Please congratulate the following students for being recognized as the March Students of the Month:  

    • 6th -  Colin Bartholomew and Katelyn Pierce

    • 7th - Caine Christenson and Claire Edison

    • 8th - Havi Berg and Meisha Person
      *Please come to the office at this time to get a treat and your certificate.  

  • The NOISE News crew is looking for 8th grade-11th grade students who are interested in joining Broadcast Journalism next year.  If you have an interest in creating videos, writing, speaking, editing, or camera work, we need you!  No experience is necessary- you will learn and become a part of a great crew!  Applications can be found on the high school counseling page OR by scanning the QR code on Mrs. Chrest's door.  Contact Mrs. Chrest with any questions!

  • Yearbook: Yearbook is now accepting applications for next year's team. Yearbook utilizes a variety of skills and has a place for everyone, whether it is photography, communication, and even just an upbeat personality. Current 8th graders can find applications on the Spectrum High School website, under student counseling, under class registration. Applications are due March 16th. 

  • At Spectrum Middle School, each day we say, Have a great day, knowing that you belong here, and with humble confidence and your best efforts, today will be a success. Go Sting!
