SPECTRUM HIGH SCHOOL 

  • NOISE News is seeking applicants for next year’s Broadcast Journalism program. If you have an interest in creating video, writing, and speaking- we are looking for you!  No experience needed as we will train you. All current 8th graders through juniors are encouraged to apply. You may pick up an application on Mrs. Chrest’s door (Room 103) or in the office at the middle school.

  • Ronald McDonald’s House Charities (RMHC) has 300 chapters in 62 countries and regions around the world. Ronald McDonald House programs can be found in 89% of the top children’s hospitals worldwide.  Please bring pop tabs in for your advisory box so we can make our biggest contribution yet.

  • Spectrum High School Theatre's performance of Seussical the Musical is next week!  Performances will be held on Friday, March 13 at 7 pm; Saturday, March 14 at 2 pm and 7 pm; and Sunday, March 15 at 2 pm.

  • Would you like to help welcome the class of 2024 to Spectrum HS? Link Crew is recruiting leaders for the 20-21 school year.  Prospective leaders will be juniors and seniors next year.  Applications are available in the College & Career Center and Mr. Ott's or Ms. Hamernick's classrooms.

  • Spring Sports season is here.  If you are in one of those sports and need to store your gear, please place them under the stairwell by Mr. Hyde's class (Room 110) and not the stairwell by the front office/college & career area.  Thank you!

  • Registration for 20-21 school year classes is due March 17.  Make sure you complete the Registration Planning Worksheet AND input your courses requests in Campus Portal.  Applications are required for Yearbook, Broadcast Journalism, AP Biology, and American Literature Honors.  Links to the applications are located on the Spectrum Class Registration page.

  • Attention all students: Spectrum High School is switching to an every other year art rotation. Next year, Art History, Painting, Ceramics, Sculpture, Digital Photography, and Digital Photography C@SH will be offered. The following year, Drawing, Graphic Design, Sculpture, Ceramics, Advanced Ceramics, and Digital Photography will be offered. This means if you would like to take C@SH Digital Photography, you may want to register for it next year as it will not be offered again until the 2022-23 school year. 

  • Ms. Grace and her Wind Ensemble students attended the MN State Hig School League Large Group Contest in Howard Lake yesterday.  They completed the competition with ratings of: Superior, Superior, and Excellent.  This resulted is an overall rating of: Superior.  Congratulations to Ms. Grace and all Wind Ensemble students!

  • Students, as you register for classes, please remember that you must complete the online registration worksheet as this is our way of verifying that your parents have signed off on your classes. You must also put your choices into Infinite Campus. All students, except graduating seniors, should register for a complete schedule.

  • Ninth grade students who are registering for C@SH classes in the 20-21 school year will complete the college applications today during Sting Time.  Report to your advisory for attendance, then come down to the College & Career Center WITH YOUR CHROMEBOOK.

  • All students who want to register for C@SH classes next year must turn in an updated C@SH Participation agreement, even if they have taken C@SH classes in the past. C@SH agreements can be found in the CCC or online. Turn in your signed agreement in the College & Career Center.

  • There has been a slight change in Spectrum's school calendar for this year, starting next week. There will be NO school for students on Monday, March 16. Instead, there WILL be school on Monday, March 23rd. Parents received a communication last night.

    Also, please remember to continue healthy habits by washing your hands thoroughly and often and if you need to cough or sneeze, please do it into your sleeve or a tissue

  • 7th and 8th graders, please be sure that you are in the habit of bringing your Chromebook home each night, charging it, and bringing it back to school the next day. This is going to be especially critical for our upcoming MCAs.
