CONGRATULATIONS, Ms. Kinney! Spectrum High School Language Arts teacher, Amy Kinney, was nominated by fellow teacher Jennifer Considine for Panera's Top Teacher Contest. Ms. Considine's entry was selected out of 850+ as the winner. General Manager at Elk River Panera Bread, Jon Rysdam, and other representatives from Panera, were at Spectrum to present Ms. Kinney and Ms. Considine with their awards. Mr. Rysdam stated, "Ms. Kinney demonstrates continued commitment and integrity in the field of education, consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty, and excels at inspiring, encouraging, and supporting her students." Ms. Kinney received a $200.00 gift card to Panera Bread, a $100.00 Target VISA card for use on classroom supplies, and breakfast for her class. Ms. Considine was awarded a $50.00 gift card for Panera Bread and a Kindle for her winning submission. Again, CONGRATULATIONS!

ALL-NIGHT SENIOR PARTY! The All-Night Senior Party will be held at River City Extreme in Monticello immediately following graduation. No students will be admitted after 10:00 p.m., and students will not be allowed to leave until 5:00 a.m. the following morning. There will be lots of games, food, prizes, and fun! Tickets are on sale NOW in the main office for $45.00. You won't want to miss this last opportunity to create memories with your high school classmates! CONGRATULATIONS! Andrea Boe, 11th grade, and Caleb Rieck, 9th grade, placed 2nd and 3rd place, respectively, in the 2012 Minnesota Statewide Charter Essay Contest! They will be recognized for their accomplishments on the steps of the State Capitol on Wednesday, May 9, 2012. First place winners receive $50, 2nd place $25, and third place $10. Again, congratulations Andrea and Caleb. We're extremely proud of you!

Special Spectrum Building Company Board Workshop Meeting: There will be a special workshop meeting of the Spectrum High School Building Company on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 4:30 p.m.
Yearbooks have arrived! Yearbooks have arrived! Did you miss out? Have no fear as we've ordered extras. Yearbooks will be on sale from now until May 23rd. We have a limited number so make sure you get yours now! This is a 6-12th grade yearbook so all middle and high school students will be in the book. TESTING! Standardized testing will be administered to Spectrum students on the following dates. As always, it is especially important to make sure that your student is well rested and well fed on each of the testing days. In addition, it is extremely important that he or she be in attendance. If possible, please try not to schedule routine appointments during times of testing for your student. Also, students must have with them two #2 pencils and they CANNOT be mechanical. Students may use calculators when taking the math portion of the MCA's.

This website is free. It has over 2800 videos and opportunities for practice. Publicized on CNN as a great site for math and other subjects.

This is an easy place to search for videos explaining math concepts.
Spring Fine Arts Concert Series: You are invited to the Spring Fine Arts Concert Series beginning with the band concert and NHS induction ceremony on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. The choral concert will take place on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.
