1:1 Chromebook Program

1:1 Chromebook Program @ Spectrum!

Spectrum offers a 1:1 Chromebook program for students in grades 7-12 as part of the school’s mission to provide a technology integrated environment. Students in grade 6 have an assigned Chromebook for use at school but do not participate in taking the Chromebook home. Chromebooks make it possible for students to access online digital resources including Schoology which is the learning management system used by all Spectrum teachers.

To participate in the 1:1 Chromebook Take Home Program, please follow the steps to complete the sign-up process.  Students who have completed the steps below will receive their assigned Chromebooks during Sting Advisory class on the first day of school.

1) Read the
1:1 Chromebook User and Procedure Guide

2) Parents must complete the User and Procedure Guide digital signature form HERE

3) Students must complete the User and Procedure Guide digital signature form HERE.

4) Students must complete the 1:1 Chromebook Course which explains key points about expectations and proper use of the device.

To Access the course: Student should log into his or her school email account.  Email account credentials are available to parents in the Infinite Campus Parent App.  From the app, click on “More” and then “Student Acct”.  Your student’s credentials for all Spectrum accounts are listed here.  After the student is logged into his or her Sting Mail, click on a new browser tab and type "".  The course can be found under the Courses menu option and Student Technology Course.  If there are any problems, please email

5) Purchase the optional Chromebook insurance in Infinite Campus. This is highly encouraged and extremely affordable ($30/year). It minimizes the cost of repair or replacement significantly to a family if the Chromebook breaks or is lost.

2019-20 Personal Device Policy:

Starting in the 2019-20 school year, students’ personal computing devices are no longer allowed in the classrooms.  Spectrum Chromebooks have the appropriate monitoring and security in place to ensure all students have equal access to programs and digital resources to support their learning.  This policy change will provide a more distraction-free educational environment for all students.

1:1 Chromebook Program Guidelines for PSEO Students

PSEO students will have reasonable access to computers and other technology resources at Spectrum High School during regular school hours, which includes access to a computer in all Spectrum classes in which they are enrolled*. Computers will also be available in the College and Career Center. In order for Spectrum to reasonably track, monitor, and maintain school-owned devices, a student must be registered for and attend at least three (high school or C@SH) courses per semester on Spectrum’s campus to participate in the 1:1 Chromebook Program.
